Your baby reclines on the support so that she/he is not completely immersed in the water, but can be washed easily. Using a bath support or seat does not mean that it is safe to leave your baby unattended. Babies can often slip out. Your baby’s head is supported above the water.

Why is bath time important for babies?

Giving your baby a mild soap bath 3 or 4 times a week will help to keep him or her clean and will help prevent skin rashes and chafing. A plain water bath may be given on the other days or if your baby is warm and sweaty. Bath time can be a fun time for you and your baby.

How often do babies need a bath?

A bath 2-3 times a week is enough to keep your newborn clean. But if your baby really likes baths, a bath once a day is fine too. Bathing more than this can dry out your baby’s skin. You can keep your baby’s genitals clean between baths by using warm water and cotton wool.
